Source Testing tool of the observed project
In the process of defect management, it was clearly shown how beneficial it is to use JIRA as a defect management tool. In many cases there were defects, which were repeated in several test cases and it was not necessary to write this defect again but rather use only its ID to assign it to another test case. It means that there was many-to-many relationship between test cases and defects—a defect could have been assigned to many test cases and vice versa—a test case could have many defects. If test cases were failed they were assigned to a subsequent test cycle. They could not be fixed within the same cycle. If test cases were blocked or marked as work in progress they could have been re-tested within the same cycle and their status could have been changed, however in reality those assigned as blocked were most often assigned to subsequent test cycles because their blockers were usually resolved together with a new release or sub-release.
